Knights vs. Mites

Mayor Jeffrey M. Lanigan invites the community to come together for a special night of hockey, fun, and support at the Knights vs. Mites Benefit Hockey Game on Sunday, March 23, 2025, at the JFK Civic Arena in Rome, NY. Puck drop is set for 4:00 PM, and concessions will be available.  The game will feature an exciting matchup between the Rome Free Academy Black Knights, coached by Jason Nowicki, and the Rome Grizzlies Mites, coached by Mayor Lanigan. The game will be officiated by two talented young hockey players, Logan Mills and Blake Meeks.

This event will serve as a fundraiser to benefit two courageous women, Andrea Moore and Sarah Wojdyla, who are currently battling cancer. A $5 suggested donation at the door and proceeds from a basket raffle will directly support Andrea and Sarah in their fight.   “This event is a wonderful opportunity for our community to rally together, enjoy a great hockey game, and show our support for Andrea and Sarah,” said Mayor Lanigan. “I’m honored to coach the Rome Grizzlies Mites and look forward to a fun and competitive game for a great cause.”

Mayor Lanigan encourages all members of the community and hockey fans to attend, cheer on their favorite team, and contribute to this meaningful cause.
